I have just a few updates to share today for you.
The March edition of “THE PICKLEBARREL” was sent out. If you would like a copy of it, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to get on the mailing list…
Only one change to the line-up for the Beaverton March 24th tournament so far. That means the alternate list is 4 people. (previous post updated)
A suggestion was made that we have an informal luncheon after the tournament. Sweet Tomatoes would be a great close idea. Their address is 1225 Northwest Waterhouse Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97006.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!!
As of 03-05-2012 we have a full list of 42 people. All communication will be though our website going forward, so please bookmark.
The facility will open at 8am, and would ask you check in by 830am, so that we can begin the blind draw at 845am for each group.
If you have any questions either post a comment below, or email email@example.com.
Alternates can still be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org

(WAIT LIST HAS STARTED)
Here we go!
The start of the Columbia River Pickleball Club for the greater Vancouver – Portland area.
About a week ago, we had a meeting where we decided to form an official club. In future posts I will go into greater detail about the club, but right now I am excited to post information about an event in Beaverton.
Over the last month, Mike Wolfe has organized a mini-tournament on Wednesday nights at Marshall Elementary in Vancouver, WA. Participation from McMinnville, Vancouver, Tigard, and even Washougal weekly has led to the evolution to a larger mini-tournament. This is purely for bragging rights and lots of fun…for 42 players.
Here are the details…
When: March 24, 2012 Saturday arrive by 8:30am – Blind Draw at 8:45 – play 9am to noonish
Where: Tualatin Hills Sports Complex, 50 Northwest 158th Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97006
Why: Fun mixer – Introduce the Columbia River Pickleball Club
Who: The first 42 people to email: email@example.com
DEADLINE 03/21/2012 (check club website for availability)
What: ONLY $5 PER PLAYER (district boundaries do not matter, passes do not work)
3 Divisions: Fun – Intermediate – Serious. (7 doubles teams in each)
Each team will play 6 games of 11 points (win by 1) – switch sides at 6
Each player will be slotted into a bracket based upon entry. (To be determined by the tournament directors)
COSOM balls will be used.
Depending upon the number of entrants, events may be modified.
Non-playing teams will referee as assigned on score sheet.
Serving team and serving side is pre-assigned on score sheet.
Winners are decided in order by: Win/Loss Record, head-to-head, total points.
Any necessary decisions or changes will be made by the tournament directors
All rules not covered in the above will follow USAPA rules and guidelines.
Thank You from the tournament directors –
Steve Parento, Jim Cessna, & Mike Hoxie
